28 Days Later (although perhaps more of a drama) and Dead Birds are the only ones coming to mind right now...

Haven't seen it but Land of the Dead.
Emily Rose isn't really scary. It deals too much with the trial. Just when you think it's going to get good they zoom back to the trial.

Haven't seen these either: Hostel, Wolf Creek, the Cave, The Hills Have Eyes, Frankenfish ...eh just kidding.

Five or six years, eh...off the top of my head, I liked Final Destination, Dawn of the Dead, Saw, Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days Later, Dead Birds, Bubba Ho-Tep, Dog Soldiers, Creep, the Ring, a couple of the Cube flicks, Frailty...mind you, none of these were 'classics' by any means, but all worth watching.

In the Asian world, I thought The Eye was good, and Three Extremes wasn't bad.

I've heard good stuff about The Descent and Slither but haven't seen them.

I will go with

- Dawn of the Dead (Don't care what Daj says)
- Final destination
- The ring

It's been slow for good horror films....

My local video store is great for getting in no-name, low budget, and underrated films.

I've found some of my favorite non-mainsteam films there.

Dog Soldiers, Dead Birds, Deathwatch... list goes on.
